Smothered Venison Steaks

This is a great dish with a side of mashed potatoes or rice.  Friends who have never had venison love it…

– 4 – 6 venisonsteaks

– 1 cup flour

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp pepper

– 1 tsp garlic powder

– 2 green peppers, chopped into 1 inch pieces

– 1 large onion, chopped into 1 inch pieces

– 1 can cream mushroom soup

– 1/2 can of milk


Preheat a large skillet with approx 1 inch of oil.

Mix the flour, salt, pepper & garlic powder in a shallow pan and dredge venison steaks in mixture.  Place the floured steaks in the hot skillet of oil and fry til both sides are golden brown.

Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and place steaks in a single layer, layer green peppers and onion on top of steak.  Cover steaks and veggies with the mixture of milk and cream of mushroom soup.

Cover tightly with foil and bake 1 hour at 325⁰.
