An easy way to cook delicious venison, great for tough pieces, even freezer burned pieces…

Ingredients
– 1 onion cut up
– 1 clove garlic
– 2 bay leaves
– 1 can/bottle beer (any, light or dark)
– 1 bottle favorite BBQ sauce
– 1-2 pounds venison
Directions
Day before:
Place onion in bottom of a container for marinating
Top with cubed venison
Pour beer over top
Place garlic and bay leaves in
Sit in fridge overnight
Morning of meal:
Put onion in bottom of crock pot
pour remaining mixture over top
Pour 1/2 bottle of BBQ sauce over top
Cover, cook on high 6-8 hours
Just before meal:
Remove meat and onions and separate
Strain and reserve the liquid
Shred venison between two forks, place shredded venison in a bowl
We keep our onion separate but you can chop or shred and mix them in with the meat
Dump remaining BBQ sauce over venison, mix up
Use reserved liquid to mix with the meat to get to desired consistency
Serving:
We love to place them over hamburger buns or sub rolls and toast with cheese over the top
