Ashley’s Venison Meatloaf

Got the original beef meatloaf recipe from my mother and slowly tweaked it over the years to incorporate other ingredients to satisfy my tastes. Makes awesome meatloaf sandwiches with the leftovers!… Submitted by Ashley M.


‘- 1 lb. of ground venison

– 2 eggs

– ¼ cup milk

– ¾ cup finely chopped onion

– ¼ cup finely chopped garlic

– 1 Cup Italian bread crumbs

– 1 Cup finely chopped fresh spinach

– 1 tsp salt

– ½ tsp pepper

– 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

– 1½ Tbsp. mustard

– Ketchup

– Open Pit BBQ sauce (any variety)

– Dash of brown sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Saute’ onion and garlic until golden brown in a little bit of extra virgin olive oil
  3. Mix together venison, eggs, milk, sauteed onion, sauteed garlic, spinach, and bread crumbs
  4. Season with salt, pepper, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and BBQ sauce; mix well
  5. Form mixture into a loaf pan
  6. Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes
  7.  Mix desired amount of BBQ sauce, ketchup, and brown sugar; pour on top and bake an additional 10 minutes
